چکیده

Background Recently, the 3-dimensional (3D) morphology of coracoacromial complex in nonpathologic shoulders has been described. The aim this study was to evaluate and compare pathologic (glenohumeral osteoarthritis [GHOA] cuff tear arthropathy [CTA]) shoulders. Methods A 3D computed tomography reconstruction 205 scapulae performed (49 with GHOA, 48 CTA, 108 normal [NL]). Subsequently, center glenoid circle several points at coracoid, acromion, were determined. distances between these rotation calculated, acromion-glenoid angle measured. Results acromial overhang significantly different NL (37 mm) CTA (35 groups (P = .045), as well GHOA (33 .010). showed a significant difference (mean, 50°) 42°) < .001) .001). Furthermore, found height, which larger group (36 than (30 or Conclusion This morphologic that part turned more posteriorly both groups. we be cranial group. Rotator Cuff Deficient Arthritis of the Glenohumeral Joint

Rotator cuff deficient arthritis of the glenohumeral joint, especially cuff tear arthropathy, has proved a challenging clinical entity for orthopaedic surgeons ever since Charles Neer originally detailed the problem in 1983. Understanding has improved regarding the pathophysiology and pathomechanics underlying cuff tear arthropathy. Surgical reconstruction options can lead to excellent outcomes...

Dynamic kinematics of the glenohumeral joint in shoulders with rotator cuff tears

BACKGROUND No clear trend has emerged from the literature regarding three-dimensional (3D) translations of the humerus relative to the scapula in shoulders with rotator cuff tears (RCTs). The purpose of this study was to evaluate the kinematics of RCT shoulders using 3D-to-two-dimensional (2D) model-to-image registration techniques. METHODS Dynamic glenohumeral kinematics during scapular plan...

The demographic and morphological features of rotator cuff disease. A comparison of asymptomatic and symptomatic shoulders.

BACKGROUND Very little comparative information is available regarding the demographic and morphological characteristics of asymptomatic and symptomatic rotator cuff tears. This information is important to provide insight into the natural history of rotator cuff disease and to identify which factors may be important in the development of pain. The purpose of the present study was to compare the ...

Rotator Cuff Tear Consequent to Glenohumeral Dislocation.

The patient was a 21-year-old collegiate running back who was tackled during a football game and sustained a posterior glenohumeral dislocation. He was referred to an orthopaedist and presented 3 weeks after the injury, and, following examination, further imaging was ordered by the orthopaedist due to rotator cuff weakness. Magnetic resonance imaging showed a complete tear of the supraspinatus ...
